Over the last few years, the iPhone and the iPad have moved on significantly in terms of technology, to the extent that many people now use them as their media of choice for watching TV and movies. One of the top apps for this is called MovieBox and, where you would once have had to jailbreak to get an app like this, now you don’t need to. MovieBox is full of the latest movies and TV Shows, with plenty of Full HD content to choose from and you have the choice of streaming direct or downloading for offline watching.

Before we move on to downloading MovieBox, its worth mentioning that, although you don’t need to jailbreak to use MovieBox [ext link] you also can’t get it from the iOS app store. This is because Apple monitors what goes into their app store and third-party apps like MovieBox rarely meet their requirements. That doesn’t mean it isn’t safe to use but there only way you can download it so to go through an app installer called ACMarket.
How to Download MovieBox :
This method might seem a little complicated to those not used to downloading apps in this way, but it really is quite simple, provided you follow the steps carefully, and it will take no more than a few minutes. We will be talking about errors with MovieBox as well and there are two that you will most likely experience. Don’t worry, they are simple to fix; first, here’s how to download MovieBox:
- Download ACMarket [ext link] app using the linked tutorial
- Open ACmarket, go to the Search bar and type in MovieBox
- When the results list appears, tap the one that goes with the iOS version you have on your device
- Tap on Download and then on Install on the confirmation message
- Wait for MovieBox to finish installing and then close ACMarket
- The MovieBox icon is on your home screen, tap to open it and start streaming your movies and shows
How to Fix MovieBox Errors :
There are two errors that we are going to discuss, one that will mostly be experienced by new users and one that all users will experience. The first is a certificate error and it will show up by MovieBox not working or an Unknown Source error. Fixing it is very simple; you just need to tell Apple that you trust the certificate:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings > General > Profile and Device Management
- Locate the certificate, World of Enterprise , nd tap it
- Tap on Trust, close settings and try MovieBox again, it will now work
The second error is one where MovieBox will crash within days of being installed and this is because Apple revokes the certificate. As we said earlier, they don’t allow it in the store and don’t see the certificate as being a valid one and, although you can reinstall MovieBox, it will only crash again. To stop this, install NessTool [ext link] and your certificates will be protected, leaving you to enjoy MovieBox without interruption.
MovieBox Alternative :
Although MovieBox is a great app, it may not suit everyone. There is, however, an alternative that you can try :
CinemaBox is an excellent alternative, allowing you access to a great selection of TV shows and movies for streaming or downloading on your iPhone or iPad. One addition is support for Chromecast, enabling you to stream your chosen content to any larger device for easier watching. Also included is a special Kids mode for when your children are watching, and, like MovieBox, it needs no jailbreak to work. download CinemaBox by clicking the link and following the instructions.
You can also jailbreak your device to install MovieBox if you want, by using Yalu jailbreak and installing MovieBox through Cydia.
