Just a couple of weeks after Apple patched up PPHelper jailbreak with iOS 9.3.4, they have released iOS 9.3.5 download [ext link] with a few more security fixes in it. This time though, instead of patching jailbreak exploits, the update is for a serious security issue that involved the download of malware that could silently steal your data, access your contact and email and track your iPhone. Apple has known about the issues for a while and has been working hard to build the fix for it and iOS 9.3.5 is that fix. We have also been told that the same patches are included in iOS 10.

Can we Jailbreak iOS 9.3.5 ?
Not at the moment. Because the release is relatively new, Pangu needs time to explore it and see what’s going on, whether Apple has patched up any other exploits that could have been used for the iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak [ext link]. And, because that same patch is in iOS 10, it may also affect their ability to come up with a new generation of jailbreak for the next firmware, which is due to be released anytime in the next few weeks [September 2016]. Of course, they may decide that it is better to retain anything that they find now and wait for iOS 10 to be released before they go ahead and produce a new jailbreak.

If security is important to you, then you may have to weigh up whether the update is worth more to you than retaining your jailbreak. There is no knowing how many devices have been infected with the malware and, as such, the choice is yours as to whether you opt to update and lose your jailbreak or take the risk and stay on an older version of the iOS. If your iPhone or iPad has been updated to iOS 9.3.4 then you may as well, go ahead and update to iOS 9.3.5 as you can no longer downgrade. Apple is not signing iOS 9.3.3 anymore so the door back to the jailbreak has now been closed.
