iOS 11.2.1 Jailbreak

Apple is continuing their bid to keep the iOS free of bugs and to keep the security fixes as current as possible and the latest release is the iOS 11.2.1 download [ext link]. This may only be a minor update, but it is interfering with the developers’ ability to bring us a jailbreak utility. Since iOS 10 was released, we have seen just one jailbreak in the form of Yalu, but this is only usable on certain devices, leaving much of the jailbreak community with no Cydia and no tweaks. Right now, it isn’t looking likely that iOS 11 is going to be any better either, given that we haven’t yet seen an iOS 11.2.1 jailbreak [ext link] and the fact that we have not heard from teams like Taig, Pangu or PP don’t make things much easier.

Jailbreaks are not on the radar right now, given how hard Apple is working on stopping it and it wouldn’t be hard to believe that we have seen the last jailbreak in Yalu. Of course, we can always hope that it will be given support for iOS 11.2.1 but we can’t expect that to happen. We’ve been told that we will see jailbreaks we’ve even seen demos of some, but we haven’t seen a fully working jailbreak utility and there is no way to tell when we will.

The only other possibility is a jailbreak for iOS 10 and that would only suit those who couldn’t update or chose not to , none of those who updated has the option of downgrading anymore. To be fair, unless Yalu is updated or unless a complete unknown produces that jailbreak for us, we cannot say when or if there will be one, but all is not lost.

Alternatives to iOS 11.2.1 Jailbreak :

If you are one of those who can’t install any jailbreak on their devices or who are fed up waiting for an iOS 11 jailbreak, then try one of the many app installers that have been released in recent months. While these can never be as functional as Cydia, they do provide a few tweaks and apps for us to use while we wait. The following two installers have full support for iOS 11.2.1 so have a look at them and see what you think:

  • Emus4U

Emus4U offers something a little different to many other app installers. Yes, you get the paid apps for free, you get a handful of Cydia only tweaks and you get lots of modified apps, like Spotify++ and Snapchat++ but you also get several emulators. These were very popular in Cydia because they gave us the chance to play console games on our iOS devices so if its these you miss from Cydia, follow the given link to find out how you can download Emus4U [ext link] on your device

  • Cyrus Installer

Cyrus Installer is a very organized app installer with all the content arranged in no less than 6 categories. These include a selection of games emulators, social media apps, entertainment, apps that have been tweaked or modified and lots of other types of apps or games. If you want to download Cyrus Installer and try it, follow the guide at the link.

Both of these installers are useful alternatives to Cydia, not just for those who can’t jailbreak right now but for those who don’t want to. Try them out, see what you think and follow us on Facebook for all the latest jailbreak news.
