On Monday, just 2 weeks after the start of Apple’s WWDC conference and the release of iOS 7 Beta 1, the second Beta was pushed out to developers. Members of the hacking community will be testing iOS 7 very closely in order to make sure that the next untethered jailbreak is right. One team that is taking a very close look is evad3rs, responsible for the iOS 6 Evasi0n jailbreak.
While there are no plans to release one for iOS 6.1.3 or 6.1.4, there will be an untethered iOS 7 evasion jailbreak. As with the iOS 6 version, there are certain requirements that you must be aware of before you download the evasi0n jailbreak.
- You must have a PC or Mac running on Windows XP or above, Mac OS X 10.6 or higher or Linux X86/X86_X64
- iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch on the relevant iOS version – at the moment it is iOS 6-6.1.2*
- USB to Lightning connector cable
* Make sure your device is on the list – if it isn’t on there, the evasi0n jailbreak does not support it
It’s advisable to back up your device before running the evasi0n jailbreak, in case you need to restore from your backup later on, you can do this via iTunes or iCloud. Also disable your lock passcode; you can re-enable it afterwards.
