We are now some way down the line from iOS 10 being released and the updates from Apple still keep on coming. The most recent update is iOS 10.0.3 download [ext link], released as another bug fix and not to bring us any new features. That is reserved for iOS 10.1, currently in beta and with no estimated date of release. All of this leads us to wonder if, or when, we will see a new jailbreak release. At the moment, PPHelper is the latest public jailbreak, covering iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3.3 on all eligible 64-bit devices.

We know for a fact that iOS 10 can be jailbroken. Not only did we see proof when the firmware was in beta, we have also seen proof since it was released. Luca Todesco, polar Italian hacker and developer, showed us a video of an iPad on iOS 10 and a photo of an iPhone7 on iOS 10.0.2, both running Cydia iOS 10.0.2 [ext link] and both released within a day or two of the firmware being released. So, if he can do it, why can’t Taig or Pangu ?

Now that another update is out, we can only hope that either Taig or Pangu will be able to release an iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak [ext link] in the very near future. However, we mustn’t forget that it takes time to build a jailbreak that works on so many devices across the world and, by the time they have built it, the next update is out. With iOS 10.1 in beta right now and containing a number of major features for the iPhone 7 Plus camera system, there are two ways for the teams to go – release an iOS 10.0.3 jailbreak now and then think about iOS 10.1, or wait until iOS 10.1 download is released first.
iOS 10.0.3 Jailbreak Release Date :
We don’t know which way this is going to go but we do know that the addition of Rootless, the new security system from Apple, is slowing down the jailbreak process. While it hasn’t stopped it altogether, it is making things more difficult for teams like Taig and Pangu to do their work and that could mean that, while jailbreaking isn’t dead, we may be having to wait longer for a new utility to be released.
Right now, if you are running on PPHelper jailbreak still, don’t update or you will lose it. If you have already updated, there is little to do but continue to wait and hope that either Taig or Pangu will release an IOS 10.0.3 jailbreak very soon.
