Evasion 7.1.2

iOS 8 has been out for almost 1 week now and questions are starting to be asked about when the next jailbreak will be available. Both Pangu and Evad3rs have now confirmed they are working on the required software but we have no available date for release just yet.

Evad3rs have said little about their jailbreak but this is normal – they won’t talk for the sake of it, instead preferring to wait until they have something definite to tell us. Pangu, on the other hand, has said that they have managed to recompile their Pangu jailbreak to work on iOS 8. We’re not sure at this stage whether that is on the full version of if it was a beta version but more details will be available soon.

Some people have upgraded to iOS 8 but have found that they don’t really like it or prefer to go back to iOS 7.1.2 where they can jailbreak. Time is running short for anyone who wants to downgrade or hasn’t yet upgraded to iOS 7.1.2 as Apple are likely to stop signing the firmware at any time.

At this stage, there is no doubt that there will be a jailbreak for iOS 8 at some point in the future. What we can’t say is when although, with two teams in the running this year, there is a good chance that we may see it earlier, rather than later as both teams will want to be first out of the starting box.
